FRIENDS AFLOAT

I give thanks
for a hear that does not always hug
the safer shore
But knows it must
set sailinto
the prefailing wind
once again and again and again
loving
I give thanks for friends
who despite occasional
wrinkled brows
stand always readon on the pier
to break another
bottle on my prow
