that you stand just
the right distance from
not too close to burn (like a lover)
not too far away to get a chill (like an other)
A friend is better than money
who remembers money after it's gone
better than fame--
A friend woul dnever
make those kinds of demands
Even better than a flat tummy
When did a flat tummy ever make you laugh
or cry
Except when you saw it on someone else

A friend is good
but not too good
And true
but not obnoxious about it
And always forever after
